The expert report, prepared under the direction of eQcharta GmbH, presents experiences and findings from the application of the “Hydropeaking measures” implementation aid module (Tonolla et al., 2017) in remediation projects and from new research projects in the field of hydropeaking in recent years. It offers fundamental considerations and explanations that can be helpful for the development and evaluation of remediation projects and new facilities. This updates the level of knowledge and promotes a learning process. The existing implementation aid module and this report ensure comparable procedures for hydropeaking projects and considers all ecologically relevant processes.
